Q:How is HomeTeam unique?
A:With our team based approach to every home inspection, REALTORS® and home buyers alike can expect the highest quality service available and not be burdened with an inspection that takes all day. Our team approach brings the average inspection time to 90 minutes or less and our average availability to 48 hours or less.
Q:How much does it cost to open a HomeTeam franchise?
A:The franchise fee for a HomeTeam territory and all of the systems, ongoing support and training is between $35K and $55K. The Start-Up package that includes everything you need for the first year of business is $9,800. HomeTeam also recommends that owners have $15,000-$20,000 in reserves for insurance, miscellaneous items and funding growth during the initial year of your business.
Q:How does HomeTeam help?
A:If you come on board, we will help you avoid the potential potholes of starting your own business. We have a marketing department to advise you on local marketing, a legal department to help you with employee contracts and customer service issues, a FrontOffice that will answer your calls and schedule your inspections, and national relationships that will help bring growth at a rate you didn’t think was possible.

A:HomeTeam’s ideal candidate is a self-starter, someone that is driven, understands the basic systems of the home, and is a people person. Q:How long is my franchise agreement?
A:HomeTeam takes our partnerships seriously. For this reason, we do not sign short-term 5-year agreements where failure is taken lightly. We value our partners immensely and back this with a full 10-year renewable agreement. With no litigation to report and such a rich background of success, HomeTeam is very selective of the owners we partner with.
Q:How do you determine territory size?
A:Territory size is based on "Owner Occupied Homes" (o.o.h.). Territories consist of up to 150,000 o.o.h. The difference between HomeTeam and other franchises is that we count only occupied homes in our values, which means that all new construction and ancillary inspections are an added bonus.
Q:Do I need to have a designated business location?
A:It is not necessary to have an office location. Most new owners designate an office space in their homes. However, as your operations grow and you are managing multiple teams and territories, a central meeting location to discuss strategy, growth, and incentives may be beneficial. If you live outside your territory, then an office space within it is required.
Q:How do I hire inspectors?
A:Forming great teams has always been a priority for HomeTeam. After more than a quarter century of experience, the process has been perfected. HomeTeam trains and guides our new owners on every aspect of the hiring process beginning with deciphering what makes an ideal "HomeTeam Inspector." Our guidance will include everything from ad templates, target markets, interviewing questions, incentive programs and much more.
Q:How much money can I make?
A:The answer is truly up to the owner. HomeTeam's top quartile averaged more than $500K in revenue in 2021, with some owners reaching revenues of $750K to $1M or higher annually. All of HomeTeam's territories have the potential to generate above average incomes and because of this we are always seeking new partners that would like to generate high revenue, scale their territories, and grow beyond themselves.
Q:What is the exit strategy?
A:None of our competitors offer a model that builds long-term equity and/or value to a potential buyer and in most cases those owners will just retire without selling their business to a new owner. We hate that. When we help you build a business with structure, processes, technology, and an executive-style role for the owner…we are helping you build value. In recent history, we’ve had franchisees sell their businesses for $1M+.
